Open Window Detection
Open window detection is an energy-saving technology that recognises when windows are open in the house and shuts down to prevent excessive heat-wastage. Energy efficient electric heaters will detect when there is a large drop in the ambient temperature and will act by pausing the system. When the temperature stabilises, it will reset and continue on the desired program.
Adaptive Start
Adaptive start is an intelligent feature. It requires some time to learn about your schedule but once it has, it will take care of your heating. It uses the lowest amount of consumption possible, whilst specifically learning what time to begin pre-heating the room. This is done so that it can hit the perfect temperature it is set for at the correct time.
Fuzzy Logic Energy Control
This technology is specific to Rointe but it’s so good that we had to mention it. It has been designed to improve the energy management that is required in order to maintain a stable environment. Independent testing in laboratories have shown that they can save up to 62% in comparison to devices that doesn’t use a thermostat.
Frost Prevention
Most decent economical electric heaters will now have frost prevention included as standard. It is used to stop energy efficient radiators from dropping below certain temperatures, usually around 5°C. If certain elements of are frozen, it can cause permanent damage to the heating system. It used to be the case where you would have to leave your heating on constantly to stop them from freezing which would increase your running costs. With this technology, you no longer need to as it will know exactly when it needs to kick in and for exactly how long.
PID Thermostat Control
Proportional Integral Derivative, an intuitive variation of heating replacing the on/off design. If the thermostat senses a small dip in ambient temperature, it will not simply start radiating heat, but will gradually increase the heating until the desired setting is achieved. If the temperature rises, the thermostat will also react to minimise energy wastage. This intelligent heating instrument improves the efficiency and performance of the heating solution. This stops energy from being drained too quickly as it doesn’t spike, it’s just a gradual increase over time.
Lot 20
A section of the 2018 ERP directive specifically targeting electronic products. It demands all models of heater comply to a carbon reduction target. It regulates against inefficient products without increasing the costs of purchase or operation.
