What is Fuzzy Logic?
Feb 27
Fuzzy logic is a mathematical technique for generating a spectrum of values between discrete binary values (0-1, TRUE-FALSE, ON-OFF). These numbers are said to be "fuzzy" in the sense they are indiscrete, inexact, and represent only degrees of precision. What does Fuzzy Logic mean for heaters? The benefit of fuzzy logic control technology for heating applications is that a heater can provide greater efficiency and therefore lower energy consumption via a more precise calculati...

What is an IP rating?
Feb 22
Ingress protection ratings determine the level of effectiveness an electrical product is against foreign bodies and liquids affecting its inner-workings. The higher the IP rating the more resistant the instrument is against intrusion. IP ratings are important because they are necessary to understand if an electrical instrument is at risk of causing danger. For example, some heaters are appropriate for heating a shower or wet room: a towel rail has a high IP rating of 44. The first numbe...

IP Ratings and Bathroom Zones explained
Feb 22
A bathroom can be a confusing place in your home to heat, with many radiators being unsuitable for installation - an electric towel rail seems the obvious choice. An electric towel rail offers somewhere to warm your towels and hang them whilst providing the same warmth as an ordinary heater would. Heated towel rails have an IP Rating suitable for zone 2, whereas most electric heaters do not carry this rating. Fitting an electric radiator in your bathroom must comply with IP (Ingress Protec...

disapointed that the instructions were not clear. The template showed 4 fixings so 4 holes were drilled but later found only 3 fixings supplied. On contacting The Heater Shop was told only 3 fixings are supplied. As 4 holes had been drilled I asked if a further fixing could be supplied , I was told they would look into this request and call me back, no reply has been received!!!

This heater was supplied due to a warranty claim after 5 years of ownership. We would still recommend this heater and have recently also purchased a second one for our kitchen.
We found the heater very effective. Fitting is straightforward. Programming requires some concentration and careful reading of the manual but is explained in detail.

Ordered this for a customer. The console was cracked. I called customer service and after a long wait, and disconnected lines I finally got through. I was asked to email photos, which I did and received the auto response of ‘wait 48hrs’. With no response after 3 days, I called, this time a faster pick up at least. Sacheen was very helpful at this point, which has brought the star rating up slightly, and collection was arranged, although this meant I had to rearrange my diary again to be in for collection. I did have to chase them up to ask if they’d received the faulty unit and when would the replacement arrive, at which point they decided to send it and I had to once again rearrange my diary to be in for delivery and again to go back to the job to fit it. This whole process was overall too slow and drawn out, and although I accept that manufacturing faults do happen, it needs to be dealt with faster, and with compensation.
The new unit appears better, harmoni is heatershops own brand. It appears they have changed the product recently between my two products to be much better packaged, the mounting brackets are different, and it all feels more sturdy.
The rad itself now seems ok for less than a month of use so far, heats well, good size for the power output. Manual control of the rad is tolerable, but programming can be a bit complex, but nothing awful. So far, fine enough product as a budget unit, just let down my heatershop being a bit weak with problem solving, but at least it was resolved in the end.

The towel rail is attractive, well made and straightforward to fit. The mountings for the current model are not as high quality as they were a few years ago but still sturdy. Good range of programming options and comprehensive instructions. Very effective heater and very good value.
Heater Shop delivered next day with a good quality courier and were exceptionally helpful when we had a warranty claim (on a different brand) a few years ago.

Delivery was delayed by 1 day for some reason. Radiator was for a bathroom in a flat so wanted the thermostat & timer functions. Quality item, well packaged. Fitting template made drilling holes simple, the fixings not the best quality. User instructions are not easy to follow but got there eventually .
